The cutting tool sharpness and service life of A4 paper cutter largely affect the production efficiency of this A4 paper cutter. The service effect and life of the tool depend on four factors: the material for making the tool, the shape and angle of the grinding tool, the quality of the grinding tool and the type of the cutting material.
1. Tool Making Materials
The cutting tool of single A4 paper cutter is made of high temperature inlay welding of cutting edge and body. The cutting edge is made of chromium tungsten manganese steel with high hardness and the cutting body is made of low carbon steel. The durability of the tool is proportional to the hardness of the steel used for the blade part. The hardness of the high quality blade after quenching can reach HR55 ~ 60.
2. Shape and Angle of Grinding Tool
On the single-side A4 paper cutter, the single-edged cutter is usually used, and its grinding angle is between 19 ~23. However, the grinding edge of this shape is not an ideal shape. The oblique surface of the cutter bears the pressure from the paper stack which is cut off during the cutting process, so that the oblique surface of the cutter is quickly worn out under the friction of the paper edge. The double-edged cutter has obvious advantages. Its grinding edge helps to reduce the load of the machine and improve the cutting accuracy.
The smaller the angle of tool grinding is, the sharper the blade is, the smaller the anti-cutting force of the object being cut, the smaller the wear and power consumption of the machine, and the neater the product being cut and the neater the incision. However, if the grinding angle is too small, the strength and wear resistance of the blade will be reduced correspondingly, while the cutting speed and quality will be reduced. Therefore, the angle of the grinding edge should be as small as possible when the cutting material is allowed and the shear resistance of the cutting material is taken into account.
3. Quality of sharpening knives
The quality of knife grinding depends on the material and equipment, the technical specifications of knife grinding and the technical level of operators. The higher the quality of grinding tool, the longer the service life of cutting tool, the better the cutting quality.
4. Types of Cutting Materials
In the cutting process, the speed at which the edge becomes blunt is related to the wear resistance of the cutting material. In cutting paper, the speed at which the blade becomes blunt is related to the texture, hardness and ash content of the paper. The harder the paper is cut and the higher the ash content, the faster the blade becomes blunt.
