Inkjet printers require a series of complicated procedures when printing images. When the printer nozzle quickly sweeps through the paper, the countless nozzles on it eject a myriad of small ink droplets to make up the pixels in the image. On the printer head, there are typically 48 or more independent nozzles that eject a variety of different colors of ink. For example, Epson Stylus photo 1270's 48 nozzles can eject five different colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, and reddish purple, as well as 48 nozzles that eject black ink. In general, the more nozzles, the faster the printing speed. Ink drops of different colors fall on the same point to form different complex colors. It can be observed with a microscope that the yellow and blue-violet inks are green at the same time, so we can think that the printed base color is formed in the inkjet overlay. By observing the simple four-color inkjet working method We can easily understand how the printer works: 0 to 4 ink drops are placed on each pixel. As shown in the figure below, different combinations can produce more than 10 different colors. Some printers can also produce 16 different colors by a combination of colors, such as "cyan and black" or "red purple, yellow and black".
